With the new season just a week away, the joint management team of Lionel Toms and Kieron Shelley have confirmed the players to have joined the Wivenhoe Town squad ahead of the 2024/25 season.

With most of last season's squad retained, the management team were keen to add quality and strength in depth to complement the existing squad and believe that has been achieved.

Introducing the new Dragons:

Jack Lockwood - Defender
Described by the management team as an unbelievable signing who completes the summer signings ahead of the season opener. Jack Lockwood is a 6ft 3 inch centre half who will bring his stature and experience of playing at a higher level to the heart of the Wivenhoe defence. He was previously at Yorkshire side Pocklington Town. The management team expect Locky to play an integral part this season due to his experience, leadership qualities and footballing ability.

Lockwood completes the summer signings ahead of the season opener.

Toby Silversword – Defender / Midfielder
An almost ever present in the AFC Sudbury Reserves side during the 2023/24 season. Silversword is a forward-thinking full back or wide midfielder who will offer natural width and balance to the side with the approach the team will take this season.

Wandi Siwale – Midfielder / Defender
A central midfielder or central defender who has previous playing experience at FC Clacton and Holland. He has qualities out of possession that will bring calmness to the defensive set up this season. His knowhow and ability to win the ball will help the Dragons turnover possession quickly and benefit the sides at critical times.

Hadley Quattrucci - Midfielder
A central midfield who also spent last season in the Division at AFC Sudbury Reserves. A player who is comfortable on the ball in difficult situations, he is able to help dictate play and has the ability to be creative in the final third.

Lewis Spurgeon - Midfielder
Our third addition from fellow Division One South side AFC Sudbury Reserves. A player who was a real leader in his previous side, he has a great work effort and is able to get box to box, adding further strength in depth to the Dragons midfield.

Harry Miller – Forward
A tenacious forward who won the playoffs with Cornard United last season and will be known to Wivenhoe supporters following a previous spell with Dragons in 2022-23 in which he scored four goals in eight games. His qualities in and out of possession were attributes that the management team were really keen to get on board. Miller is a hardworking forward both on and off the ball, he with an eye for goal and deserves the rewards for his work rate. Scored against Stanway Rovers U23s and Burnham Ramblers so far in pre-season. Miller also includes Little Oakley and Harwich & Parkeston amongst his former clubs.

Taylor Warden - Forward
A player the management team were keen to get on board right from the start of the summer and see as a real coup for Wivenhoe Town. He is a new addition to the Dragons forward line who played for Southend Manor, Cornard United and White Ensign last season. A natural goal scorer in Divisions above, will add guile to the Dragons attack. His knowhow in and around the box will hopefully bring him and the club success in front of goal this season. So far in pre-season he has grabbed a goal against Burnham Ramblers.

These seven signings join our retained players with support from the U23s to make up the First Team Squad ahead of the season opener at Pinchbeck United on Saturday 27th July.

The Dragons then face Harwich & Parkeston at Broad Lane on Tuesday 30th July, season tickets are available now!
